NEWS - 200913.11.2009 The Songbook of Slepá kolej 1994-2009
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the existence of Slepá kolej we prepared and published at our own expenses a summary Songbook that contains 58 songs with chords and keys (all of them were recorded in the studio), a brief profile of the band, views of the covers of all the released CDs, and a graphic overview of all the used chords. The Songbook will be available at all our concerts, or you can contact us at info@slepakolej.cz. 12.11.2009 Hifiklub Plzeň – the annual concert (15 years)
The concert on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the band life was held in the pleasant environment of Hifiklub in Plzeň. The selection of the songs during a two-hour programme followed the band development from 1994 up to the present time. From the very beginning we chose, for example, the songs Groteska and Déšť (as one of a few this song has never been released on any official CD). A welcome guest at the concert was the singer Julie "Veverka" Štroblová who had been performing with us from the very beginning of the band life to 2004. Therefore we took advantage of her presence and together we played a few older songs. The recording of the song Mým srdcem řeka protéká , is a unique video because both our Julies, the former as well as the present singer, appeared together on the stage. The video recording of the entire concert can be downloaded here. 13.9.2009 Farewell to the old rehearsal studio (photos from 2004)
One of the reasons of smaller activity of Slepá kolej in this year was that we were forced to leave our old rehearsal studio. It was a room in the basement of a family house which we cleaned out and renovated with the help of our sponsoring company at that time and adapted for rehearsing with the loudspeaker system in 1996. During the following years we had to make a new wooden floor and carry out some smaller repairs. However, we could use it without any more serious problems for 13 years. All our songs we have in our repertoire were written here and the most of the studio recordings were prepared here, too. It is also necessary to mention the near "club" U Kostečků where we drank many beers and ate much gothai salami with onion when planning our concerts. Therefore we say goodbye with thanks to our old rehearsal studio. We can assure all our fans that we have already found a new rehearsal studio and as soon as we equip it with a quality loudspeaker system the band life should get back into the groove. 29.8.2009 Dobřany - Radbuza fest
After a longer pause we played at a concert and we were very pleased by great atmosphere in Dobřany at Radbuza fest. We opened the evening concert and thanks to the professional work of the sound men and organizers our performance went very well and we really enjoyed it. We arrived in Dobřany only after the first meeting in our new rehearsal studio and so in our block we played the best songs of our repertoire still warmed up from our afternoon practice. 8.4.2009 Concert in Horní Beřkovice
We had a chance to play in the sanatorium in Horní Beřkovice for the second time already (the first concert was in May 2006) and therefore we were looking forward to nice atmosphere of the performance. This time we travelled by one car only because we did not take the drums. Our program was composed partially with the help of the automatic drummer (it is the same drummer ALESIS SR16 we performed with in the period 1996-1998) and partially we used samples mixed into life performance. We were nicely welcomed by Jarka Týnková, an organizer of these cultural events, and so we assumed the concert would be performed in friendly atmosphere. The following two hours confirmed our expectations. Thanks for your votes that helped to reach this result even in the severe competition. We will meet you through Sára on February 22, 2009 again and we believe it will not be the last meeting. The next part of „Západočeská lokálka“ will be broadcast on February 8, 2009 at 5:10 p.m. 11.1.2009 The song "Sáro..." in the competition "Západočeská lokálka"The song Sáro... from the CD "Noemi" was surprisingly chosen to the competition "Západočeská lokálka" in the broadcating of ČRo Plzeň on January 11, 2009. We will appriciate when you send us your vote and support us in the competition. The final results will be known in the next round of "Západočeská lokálka" on January 25, 2009 at 5:10 p.m. 4.1.2009 CD Slepá kolej 2008 in the programme "Hudební novinky týdne" in the broadcasting of ČRo Plzeň
