16.12.2010     Hifiklub Plzeň

The Christmas concert in Hifiklub turned out well far better than expected. We put on the program a series of songs played with the help of the samples mixed to the live performance. It was a Christmas gift to the listeners who found the time for coming to our concert. We would like to express our thanks for a nice evening to the sound man as well as our photographer Zdeněk Katera whose photos can be viewed in the special photogallery. Slepá kolej successfully finished the concert season 2010 and is looking forward to the next one.

27.11.2010     Plzeň - Klub Rádio Café

Slepá kolej celebrated sixteen years of the band life. We chose a new place for the anniversary concert - the Rádio Café club in the town center. This time, after the opening series we also put the songs illustrating the beginning of Slepá kolej on the program. In order to create the atmosphere we played them in the original acoustic versions. After that the concert gradated slowly. We played newer songs and the listeners could hear a brand-new song that we played in the public for the first time. In the evening also the song Tvá chuť je znát was played which is offered for watching here.

29.10.2010     Plzeň - A.C.W.Saloon

The Friday concert in A.C.W. Saloon was a success beyond expectations. At the beginning the instrumentation gave trouble a bit, but later everything took a turn for the better, the saloon filled up nicely and also the first dancers appeared. At the end of the third series the fans asked for older songs that we did not have in our repertoire so we had to grope for them to satisfy these wishes. The reward was the full “dance floor” among the tables and the perfect atmosphere till the final song.

13.10.2010     Plzeň - housing estate Vinice

So, we have performed in the middle of a housing estate for the first time. It was an interesting experience. The weather was fine; it was a nice fall day. Several children played in the playground behind us, some local guys with beer bottles hung around a gaming club, sausages smelt good from a near stall and new wine was served for free. Passers-by stopped in surprise and open windows suggested that we did not play for ourselves. The soundman Kráťa arrived at the last minute; but the later he came the faster he managed to build up the loudspeaker system and install sound. So, finally we enjoyed playing.

1.10.2010     Updating the link Members

We have updated the link Members, basic information about the single members of the band has been completed with e-mail contacts and links to Facebook profiles. We have also added some older photos. We have also completed a list of all the former members of the band, and stage and studio guests.

18.9.2010     Plzeň - Plzeňské ohýnky 2010

The 5^th year of the fireworks competition “Plzeňské ohýnky” was held in Plzeň U sv. Jiří. The program including almost an hour-long concert of Slepá kolej preceded three competitive fireworks that lighted up the sky in the evening. Thanks to the great organization together with the great sound by Rudy Hálek we played out a nice concert. We as well as the large audience enjoyed it very much. We would like to thank Zdeněk and Veronika for quality photos of the performance. Veronika also made a record of the song Byli jsme tam.

11.9.2010     Sokolov – Miner´s Fair (Hornická pouť)

The Miner´s Fair in Sokolov puts us in mind of the festival in Plzeň Struny na ulici in its best years – crowds of people, several stages, etc. We also recalled the times we used to come regularly to Sokolov to participate in Sokolovský dostavník and other events. There used to be quite a lot such events in the region of Karlovy Vary. We would like to thank Miloš Rybař of Roháči who invited us there. It´s a pity Julie could not go with us; however we managed it somehow and enjoyed it.

20.8.2010     Hoštice - Stodola Michala Tučného

In the famous village Hoštice (known from movies) we felt almost as at home. Besides us, two other bands from Pilsen also participated in the Friday competition - Na Starý Kolena Band and Lignit. (By the way the personnel of the Mefisto bar were also from Pilsen.) The last named band became one of the winners and so they participated in the main program on Saturday. Voting was carried out by means of cups and so we gave all our cups to the other Pilsner bands because it was kindly embarrassing to throw them to our bag. (We will rather not comment the actual way of assessment.) We also helped a little bit to the second winner – a Slovak band Neznámi because Míra lent them his drums. We felt a bit sorry we did not win. But the event was very interesting and Hoštice is a very nice place.

7.8.2010     Večer pro klášter Chotěšov

This year of “The Night for the monastery in Chotěšov“ was extraordinary for us in many ways. This time the weather was not on the organizers´ side and therefore due to the continuous rain the outdoor stage must have been moved to the interior of the monastery. Since we were the first band of the afternoon program, immediately after we had arrived we became involved in the organization. After the agreement with the organizers and the sound man we moved the concert from the originally suggested monastery church to the adjacent hall. We also helped with moving benches for the visitors. After installing the sound system and lighting the stage a magic of unmeant came out. The hall itself created an incredible atmosphere that accompanied the whole concert. It was also supported by the excellent sound provided by the sound man Petr Walczysko. Finally, we were pleasantly surprised by the photos taken by a photographer Zdeněk Katera, The photos captured that special atmosphere of the concert. You can look at them in the specially created photos, We thank to Zdeněk and we are looking forward to the future cooperation.

11.7.2010     Slepá kolej at the festival “Stodola Michala Tučného 2010”

Slepá kolej has been chosen by the expert panel of judges to participate in the competition for the prize of Michal Tučný at the festival A Meeting of Friends or Stodola Michala Tučného. The competition will take place on Friday August 20, 2010 at 6 p.m. in Hoštice u Volyně. We will appreciate your support there!

19.6.2010     Plzeň - Hudební rej

Hudební rej 2010 was the 3rd year of the Pilsen festival organized by Jirka Sláma of the well-known musical publishing house Avik. As for the organization it certainly was one of the best festivals we have participated in whether it was the sound system, services for visitors or the background for the bands. It must be mentioned that the admission to this festival is fully free for the visitors. Simply everything worked perfectly and there was great atmosphere. We used our time to our full satisfaction. On the stage there was great sound and therefore we could concentrate on our performance only, especially when we saw many friends in the audience, listeners who sang our songs with us as well as a few dancers. Therefore, it is necessary to thank Jirka Sláma for giving Slepá kolej an opportunity to perform in Plzeň on an outdoor stage again after a long time, especially at this outstanding festival. 5.6.2010     Nepomuk - a concert on the occassion of ceremonial opening of the natal house of Augustin Němejc

At the beginning of June we had the privilege of arranging an evening concert after a ceremonial opening of the newly reconstructed house of an outstanding native of Nepomuk Augustin Němejc. This well-known artist, who, apart of other things, is the author of the curtain in the Josef Kajetán Tyl theatre in Plzeň, concentrated his work on life of humble folk in the Pilsen region. After the reconstruction a gallery was opened in his more than 200 years old house as well as a summer outdoor stage where we played a concert. We installed the sound system using their loudspeaker system. It was a nice evening for us and for our listeners which closed this festive day.

30.3.2010     Hifiklub Plzeň

After a four-month pause we started the 2010 season with a concert in the Hifiklub in Plzeň. The club was almost full and the easy atmosphere contributed to general satisfaction. We invite you to look at the photos, taken during the concert.
